What Must I Do to Be Saved?
To be saved, one must be born of both water and the Spirit; otherwise, they cannot enter the kingdom of God (John 3:5). Water baptism is essential. As Peter instructed, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost" (Acts 2:38). The Bible provides numerous examples of baptism in Jesus' name, found in Acts (2, 8, 9, 10, 19, 22), Romans 6, 1 Corinthians 1 and 6, Galatians 3, and Colossians 2.
How Do I Repent?
Repentance prepares our hearts for God. To repent means to change one’s mind, feel genuine sorrow, and move in a new direction. "For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death" (2 Corinthians 7:10). Sometimes, God reveals His goodness to inspire repentance, and the anointed preaching of His Word often encourages this desire for change.
How Do I Receive the Holy Ghost?
First, fully repent; second, be baptized in Jesus’ name; and third, believe that God will fill you with the Holy Ghost. "He who believes and is baptized will be saved" (Mark 16:16). Allow the Spirit of God to fill you. Begin by praising and thanking God for His goodness and mercy, for sacrificing His life for you, and for all He has done and is doing in your life. Open your mouth and praise the Lord! "Hallelujah" is the highest praise we can offer! As you surrender your life to Him and worship from the depths of your heart, expect God to fill you with the Holy Ghost. You will speak in tongues, a heavenly language, as the Spirit enables you. "And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance" (Acts 2:4). Oh, the joy that will fill your soul! After receiving the Holy Ghost, you become a new creation. God will refresh your spirit, giving you a clean heart and a mind to live for Jesus. This experience will empower you to reign with the Lord!
About Christian Living
As Christians, we are called to love God and others. We should strive to live holy lives both inwardly and outwardly, worshiping God joyfully. The supernatural gifts of the Spirit, including healing, are still for the church today (see Mark 12:28-31; 2 Corinthians 7:1; Hebrews 12:14; 1 Corinthians 12:8-10).
About the Future
Jesus Christ will return to gather His church. This will lead to the final resurrection and judgment. The righteous will receive eternal life, while the unrighteous will face eternal death (see 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 20:11-15).
