Minister: Anthony Lewis
The Bread of Life Community Outreach Food Pantry is devoted to meeting the physical and emotional needs of individuals and families throughout the Capital Region. Since 2017, we have worked to bridge the gap for those experiencing food insecurity by providing dependable access to nutritious food, household staples, and compassionate support. Our ministry exists to ensure that no member of our community is overlooked, underserved, or left without hope.
Each month, on the 4th Saturday, we host a large-scale Mass Food Distribution that operates rain or shine. Designed to accommodate as many households as possible, our drive-through service in the church parking lot allows families to receive groceries quickly, safely, and with dignity. Volunteers greet guests, load their vehicles with pre-packed boxes and fresh items, and offer prayer or encouragement for those who request it. We take pride in maintaining a warm, respectful environment where every person is treated with honor regardless of their circumstances.
Our pantry provides a wide variety of essential resources including fresh produce, meat, dairy products, canned goods, dry staples, beverages, snacks, hygiene items, and other necessities that help families stay nourished throughout the month. We collaborate with community partners, food banks, local donors, and church members to ensure that our shelves remain stocked and that the quality of what we distribute reflects the care and love behind our mission.
Beyond distributing food, the Bread of Life Food Pantry serves as a support system for the community. We connect individuals to emergency resources, share information about local assistance programs, and remain available throughout the week for urgent food needs. Our commitment goes far beyond logistics—our purpose is to lift burdens, strengthen families, and provide a consistent presence of kindness during uncertain times.
Everything we do is fueled by compassion, volunteer dedication, and the belief that serving others is an expression of God’s love. By addressing hunger, we help restore stability, create pathways toward independence, and bring hope to those who need it most. At Bread of Life, feeding our community is not just an outreach effort—it is a calling, a privilege, and a promise.
