Protect A Girls’ Image (PGIO) is a faith-driven humanitarian organization dedicated to restoring dignity, hope, and opportunity for vulnerable children—particularly young girls—and their families. Focusing primarily in Nairobi and Kenya’s Central region, PGIO tackles deep-rooted social challenges such as substance abuse, adolescent pregnancy, and other family destabilizing issues.

At its heart, PGIO champions holistic transformation. Rather than offering temporary relief, the organization collaborates with social workers, counselors, healthcare institutions, and youth coordinators to provide sustainable support. These partnerships help address the root causes of substance use, deliver counseling and treatment, promote awareness, and prevent early pregnancies.

Vision & Values

PGIO envisions a world where every child, regardless of their background, has access to justice, healing, and spiritual guidance. Their faith-centered approach emphasizes that restoring a child’s “image” goes beyond material or social support—it is about dignity and spiritual well-being.

Programs & Impact

Substance Use Advocacy: PGIO raises awareness, prevents addiction, and supports recovery through professional counseling and long-term care.

Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention: Education, life-skills training, and reproductive health workshops empower teens to make informed, responsible choices.

Psychosocial Support: Tailored emotional and psychological care is provided by trained counselors and social workers for children affected by trauma.

Advocacy & Awareness: Through media campaigns, school outreach, and community programs, PGIO promotes gender-sensitive norms and advocates for policy change.

Since its founding, PGIO has steadily expanded its reach, working with local institutions and faith-based groups to ensure no child is left behind.

Leadership

Margaret Wangui (Founder & President) established PGIO inspired by her personal journey, dedicating her life to serving women, children, and families in crisis.

The leadership team includes social service directors, youth mentors, and fundraising professionals working across Kenya and the U.S., ensuring strong guidance and strategic impact.
